Collaboration with Russian and International Non-Governmental Organizations

The Company is actively participating in drawing up an agenda for discussing urgent international, Russian, regional, and branch problems within the framework of the activity of non-governmental organisations, including business associations and branch unions.

Twenty of the Company’s representatives are members of management bodies and expert structures, branch associations that are vital to the Company’s activity, and international organisations.

In 2013, representatives of Norilsk Nickel participated in events held by the Russian Foundation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Manager Association Interregional Public Organisation, and others. Deputy Director-General of OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel Andrei Bugrov was elected as vice president of the RFIE. The Company has joined the Business Social Charter of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and has been registered as its member.

Norilsk Nickel acted as general partner at the Eleventh Annual Conference of the Donor Forum on “Charity in the Russian Regions: Special Features and Prospects” held in Moscow—a key event in charity and a leading expert venue for discussing the most important philanthropic trends and events in Russia and the  world.

Norilsk Nickel is participating in the work of several international organisations, such as the Nickel Institute, the U.S.-Russia Business Council, the International Platinum Group Metals Association, and the International Union of Metallurgists public organisation.

The Company is also cooperating with the APEC Forum, participating in the work of a Special Group on the Mining Industry and Metallurgy.

In March 2013, a delegation from MMC Norilsk Nickel took part in a business colloquium of the BRICS countries in the SAR.

At an April 2013 session of the Security Committee of the International Association of Platinum Group Metals, which unites the largest world companies held in, Director of the Security Department of MMC Norilsk Nickel Vladislav Gasumianov was elected as the Committee’s chairman. In November of the same year, a meeting of representatives of the security divisions of the leading world platinum-producing companies was held at the Norilsk Nickel Africa office (Johannesburg, RSA) on the initiative of the Association’s leaders. The participants discussed topics relating to combating the illicit circulation of precious metals, ensuring the protection of production enterprises, and strengthening security of the product delivery chain.
